The thing is, loading depends largely on CPU speed and RAM as well as the hard disk. What happenned to Novashine is his HDD's were offloading data faster than his CPU could unpack it, etc.
They'll play CS without a hitch, but sims 2 may be a bit choppy at medium settings.
go to the advanced options and click "read gpu temp". You probably will have to do the heat modification like i did, which should lower the temp by about 50°f.

I think broadband needs to be revamped for steam to be the norm. I think it would a neat idea to lay down gigabit ethernet across the nation, then it would take seconds, not hours, to download games.
