I went with the 2x512 option and got a reply from powernotebooks saying that the BIOS update does not fix the single 1gig stick bug. looks like I answered my own question YES!! I'm finally getting my laptop!

huh, i just checked powernotebooks website, and they took the 1 gig sodimm option off the configuration page. Doesnt look too good for me Maybe I'll just go with the 2x512

ebay? thats a good point. Actually, mayaman, the one 1gig stick was only like 66 bucks more than 2 512 meg sticks. But then again, if I went with the 2x512, powernotebooks would reimburse me $66, which i could put toward a nice targus...
