Got my 8600 last month (2nd of June exactly) and the screen is still shown a bit leakages. It's Hitachi, and after checked it with Belarc Advisor, the screen was manufactured in March 2004. Dude... So i am using Un-Revised hitachi...

Mine is also flat. The Inspiron that you saw in the mall is a display unit, and they usually don't put the battery there. Which is apparently have a small rubber leg. So as a result, its unstable. That's what i'm thinking though, correct...
