Does the latest Omega Drivers still give the black screen when playing games, thus requiring that Fn-F5 trick to make it work?

I would like to check with the users of the F3400, is it normal for your HDD to reach temps of 48-50 degress under heavy usage? Granted I live in a tropical country but it seems a little hot.
