what if I went from XP to vista I am having problems finding the old XP disc can't even remember if Dell sent me one or not. But would all my information be retained if I went that route.

I got to the multi disk screen again but it freezes right there

I got the latest driver tried going into the safe mode but all I got was a list of lines that said "multidisc"

how do you go about unistalling and installing the video drivers from safe mode. I tried seting the boot from either USB and or the cd Drive but no luck as of yet I maybe missing something a step or something

it does but I think it is the DOS screen it says Dell and then it goes into the XP logo screeen and then after that it just goes black.

so just burn it to a disk and then boot it off the disk?( sorry not that computer literate when it comes to programing) appreciate the info

Ok i changed out the video card and in the process I did a drivers cleaner and deleted all the old video drivers now the problem is that when It restarted it did so without any drivers the card and the screen works (did a diagnostics...

so let me ask this will the current BIOS I have be compatible with either of the cards I have or do I still have to flash it? I have searched the web looking for info but as of now no luck again I apoligize for the late call in.
