ok then you could d/l sp1 from microsoft's site and burn it to a cd.

SP1 should have come built into you copy of XP if you just bought it with the lappy.

I don't have any benchmarks but my desktop has 512 while my lappy has 1Gig. Load times are usully not greatly affected by processor they are RAM and HD speed dependand so while the desktop has a slower proc this should still be a...
