Very interested in this as well. i just bought a 3680 to fix. after the new hd gets here i'm going to put xp on it instead of vista. When I download the drivers for xp from acer will it include the updated bios?

Current value? Looking at some other laptops. This one has average wear. The dc jack has been replaced. It can get hot and shutdown so i keep it on a cooling pad. I also have the restore disk that no one ever has for these. Thanks!

i just reread your post. i guess you are wanting to try something else first. worst case scenario with jack replacement: you're out a couple hours and 3 buck for the jack. hope this helps.
