Do I have the option to remove the hard drive before sending in my 6810 for cracked hinges. I don't want any accidental formatting. Perhaps though the hard drive is needed by emachines. Any thoughts?

Before asking let me just say that I love my 6810 and really appreciate everything I learn by lurking around here and reading the posts. I enjoy my laptop so much in fact that I keep putting off the desire to send it in on the hinges...
Tanbam Thank you so much for your info. It's good to hear about the games. All the newer ones...farcry, sim 2, simcity4, seem to be choking and going to the hard drive but I didn't know if 256 extra MB would make a diff. Thanks...

Good to know. When you're not expecting it to snap in you kind of wonder. I'm glad the crack hasn't affected the working of the hinge for you. Hopefully it stays that way.
I just got a 6810 and love it. I do have 2 quick questions though. 1) The first time I plugged the ac adapter into the laptop it seemed to fall out. So I pushed it back in a little harder and it seemed to click into place and works...
