The power adapter shouldn't be the problem since you can practically always get an adapter for the different pin configurations on ebay. I just checked my adapter and it says it supports 100 - 240 V @ 50-60 hz input.

Some of the Celeron M's were socket 479 but yonah (celeron m 430) is socket M = socket 478, so the T5500 should be pin compatibile. However, I'm not sure how the conflicting FSB speeds between the two (yonah is 533 and T5500 is 667)...

I don't think this is anything new. I've seen desktop LCD screens before with the back plate removed and it looks pretty similar. I might be wrong though.
