Yeah you experienced one of the rare instances where a generic brand is worse that the name brand. I agree with Quicksilver's post.
I have a nforce mobo/gfx combo so I do it through nvidia's system tools. I bet you could o/c you computer if it's non-nforce but you would have to take it apart to find which clock gen it is using
As I always say, for $3500 you could have got a banging desktop with dual gtx 280's and a quad w/ 4 gb of memory. IMO laptops, even upgraded ones, still aren't good enough / meant for gaming. But to his his own right
Adding on what Quicksilver said, Dell is a very solid brand. HP is good as well (it's what I bought) and they have verrrrryyy good warranty service. Apple is a little overpriced IMO...$2000 for a laptop which dell sells for $1000. ...

i'm avidly against Acer b/c they are of a very very poor build quality (flimsy).
