i really like the trackpoint...disabled the touchpad on my previous laptops. for everyday use i use the touchpad on my new computer that lacks the trackpoint. but for detailed stuff, like photoshop, i like to use a mouse. laser mouse...
ah, i guess you've succumbed to the pressure. there are SOME good things about vista...eg. i really like the sidebar thing...yea, it's a rip of mac os, but it still has some useful tools/apps.
try the fujitsu forums. i was looking at a tablet while back and there were some people mentioning they were talking to reps regarding their dysfunctional computers...just a thought?
good luck with that. have you tried other forums like lenovo's? or even there's a thinkpad-specific community. you could always try to find an xp recovery cd for the x41...would mean might have to shell some dough, but to get...

I hear the biggest conundrum is getting the tablet functions to work with linux...were you thinking Ubuntu? I was debating putting mine on there...but have decided against it since it would have been a hassle. anyhow, try the ubuntu...

30 CD's?! you would think that since the T43 has a dvd reader they could at least have an option to make a recovery DVD...but then again, that's still what, 9 DVD's? sigh...
I'm not sure if someone posted this yet, but national geographic's website has a plethora of free wallpapers!...my favorite so far are the nudibranchs featured in next month's issue....
