Doesn't really matter anymore anyway with the X800 XT announced today by ATI.

do you guys predict any other upgrades in the near future? (I need to purchase my laptop before august)
Oh, if you're not that set on a Dell rockdirect announced a laptop w/ the AMD FX-55 or X2 and the X800 XT today. Based on the D900T, so it should show up in...

Pretty sure they are going to use the same core as the desktop version.
Click on the Anandtech link in my first post to see the benchmarks.
Or I'll just post the Hard Link here:

Probably just wishful thinking.
But Rockdirect announced today a laptop based on the D900T w/ AMD X2 or FX-55 and the X800 XT. 'Course they're in the UK, but Sager's gotta follow since it's a...
Mobility X800 XT?
Check out the power consumption. 35 watts vs. 65 for the Ultra.
Anandtech has a review with benchmarks done with an Alienware. 'Course you can't order that Area-51 yet.

I've been holding off on the Clevo unit from Hypersonic or Boxx and waiting for WindowsXP 64 and the new 100GB 7,200 RPM HD. Hypersonic offers the workstation Clevo with WindowsXP 64 but not the hard drives. So far, I believe Dell is the only ones selling notebooks with the larger drvies.

That's the best news about the X800 XT, as preliminary tests seem to indicate not much of a boost in performance (hard to say because of the resolutions used), although it looks like there might be something w/ AA / AF used.
'Course this pales in comparison to the news from rockdirect:
The X800 XT in a D900T chassis with AMD FX-55 or X2.
When will we see this in a Sager / Alienware / Hypersonic?

Actually, it's not regular speedstep, but EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology).
But, besides that, there's also Thermal Monitor 2, which improves on TM which was in the first P4. However, you're right, this is only in the 660 and 670, so it wouldn't affect other 6xx series CPUs.
Finally, there's also the C1E...
