but what if this happens in a year or two?? I can still send in my Gateway Laptop for repairs although the model was discontinued 4 years ago!Somehow I doubt that this will be the same way with Alienware

if you had an ATI card i would tell you to use the Omega drivesr-I can use different resolutions in HL2 than 1680+1050 now. Dunno the equivalent for Nvidia cards though

So what if my MR9700 doesn´t work any more in .......let´s say 2 years.I can throw away the whole machine right??

HI, I have exactly the same problem with the Razer Diamondback software on my Are51m (766).Haven´t figuread out why,but I didn´t find any solution for this issue either. Sorry I can´t help.

It´s probably deactivated in the BIOS If that´s the case even Hardware Manager cannot detect it. Check your CMOS settings
