This happens a lot when people buy new laptops. Reformatt the hard drive, it should fix everything. The hard drive goes through a lot of shit before it get to you. You will be satisified.

There are adaptors that the CD just pops into. I don't have a link, but one came with my Sony Camera.

I have encountered this same problem, it usually takes 10-15 minutes of screwing around to get it right, which I don't know what I'm doing. I know you have to mess around with the primary display. Clarification would help.
