If I were you, I would look for a new laptop. You get a warranty plus everything is functional. You'll probably be dissapointed if you buy it. I know I need a fast machine.

I actually researched this a lot, but it has no negative effect on the battery. Once the battery is fully charged, it stays charged due to the constant power supply, but does not overcharge. the only way you would screw up your battery...
