Yes, the new notebook KB came with an attached ribbon cable........ Wish that was it but don't seem to be...... Something else must be wrong or open.....

UPDATE.... Well, I got a USB adapter and attached a regular KB to the notebook..... Worked just fine....... Got a new notebook KB and installed it.....NOTHING........Just like before..... Any ideas?????

Well, how does one determine if this is the problem? Is there any fix, short of a new main board? Everything that needs mouse input seems to work and shows correctly on the screen......... I can put a CD in and it works just fine,...

It's XP...... I don't believe that I have a boot disc....... I didn't get the system restore(?) discs made either....... I did do a system restore with no change..... I know just enough to be dangerous with pc's!!! Thanks..... John

Well, I followed the instructions in the noted link....... Hate to say it but the cable was plugged in...... I re-seated it but still no keyboard input recognition..... Should I just order another keyboard and try it or is here something...
