When I safely remove my thumb drive or my ext. hard drive from my laptop it disconnects my wireless card. System hardware shows the exclamation point and rebooting corrects it.
Anyone else have similar issues?
I met a guy with a well used m5700 one day while working on a project in Gulf Port, MS. I acknowledged him as a fellow owner and he spoke well of the brand. I have had many admirers of my m5550 but many just like the way it looks they don't all know about the AW significance.
In the words of the immortal Frosty, "Happy Birthday" I loved my m5500, but had to give it to work. I really liked the dark finish and the AW logo grew on me. I agree the weight is nice for ease of traveling. Truly a great system for the Road Warrior types. You should buy it 2 gb ram as a present, it is worth it.
I have purchased a couple of laptops from ebay. I have had great results so far. Researching is the key and make sure you read into listing. If you image still retains an image even though it is really dark then it does sound like the back light to me. I am with Gunner in checking out a computer repair location it should still be worth it.
Commish --They did not ship mine in the black box. It was shipped in standard cardboard with the black box inside it. Better that way in my opinion since it lessens the chances for theft.
I got the three year warranty up front since my company was footing most of the bill. I hope that I would never use it. I will be hurting badly if I ever have to send it back to depot, not just for the cost but the time.
