I can think of no other reason why it would not work.
I'm using radlinker. The GPU runs about 46C when idle and 51C after playing doom 3 for half hour at 800x600 high quality (noAA/noAF).
I'm amazed at how well this notebook cools. I'm about at the limit of the overclock on the 9700...
