If you have plenty of RAM, the speed of the HD should not effect your gameplay. The only thing that it WILL take a hit on is the loading times. I have a 4200 HDD and my laptop and I get better benchmarks than some people with 9100/XMS...

I run at 1024x786 @ 60hz 4xAA, settings are mid-high and get about 50-60 fps. Get this game, it rocks! Power to demolishionists!
