The MacBook Pro would be a fine machine, however, you'll have to use an equivalent to Autocad and Rhino or you'll need to install Windows on the computer and dualboot. Virtual Machines can NOT handle 3D very well.
The glossy screens are quite nice and if accurate colour is necessary they perform well after calibration.
Prices :shrug: they're competitive and they're not. You just need to balance out the benefits you get with MacOS X compared to Windows.
