i was going to get a mac, but decided not to because while os x rocks, linux is as good imo and pc hardware is faster and cheaper.

i am using running kubuntu hoary 5.04 on desktop (dual-boot with winxp) and my laptop is running damn small linux 1.0 exclusively.

the 9860 because it's pentium (more powerful in apps like ps and compiling stuff) and because it has a raid option. while the xps2 does have a (slightly) better gpu, the cpu and hd advantage in the 9860 more than make up for it imo.

i installed ubuntu on my comp and then kde on top of it, so i pretty much have kubuntu. it's very fast and easy to use. best distro i've used thus far.
