Ahh just double checked, seems that I have the 8371, instead of the 8371G, vendor wrote it wrong on the invoice. Thanks for your help. Would you also happen to know how to access the recovery partition on this model? Thanks
The forced shutdown may have caused bad sectors on your PC's HDD, hence the slow performance. It usually takes many forced shutdowns to cause bad sectors but maybe this particular one caused a huge cluster of sectors to die.
Definitely not a normal issue, inform Dell about it.
I experience great battery life with my D620. Make sure Dell's Quickset is installed and you will experience great battery life.
OK, sorry to be fussy but next time, please use short paragraphs. I previously used a D600 as well and it came with an internal bluetooth module chip, I had absolutely no issues when installing the drivers fresh from a format. Try...
Mine does not use wireless radio but bluetooth radio. I use an entry level Logitech V270 from work. It does the job and works great.
I have a TSST corp dvd burner and it overburns fine, in fact, all burners should overburn fine with no problems.
Have you ensured that you have Dell's QuickSet installed? I have a D620 as well with the 9-cell battery and battery lasts forever.
Isn't the default speedstep program Dell uses, Quickset? Install that after a fresh format and it should bring your laptop back to normal use.
I'm not too impressed with Mobile AMD cpus yet, their battery life is terrible compared to Mobile Intel cpus.
