btw i replaced a toshiba slot loading burner...its just that the face plate on my toshiba is matched with the asus laptop's chassis but it does not fit in the pioneer...

it is a great drive...only problem is that my old face plate for the toshiba sd-r6112 (rubbish drive! ) wont fit on...
wow..that 8.9" notebook looks great...yeah its a shame that asus dont make tablet pcs..i reckon they should jump into that particular market before dell do
yeah...guess i just expected more from hitachi..it came to a point where the hdd occasionally made popping sounds..and then sometimes its running and it just shuts off because the hdd fails..
after i rebooted the laptop..the SMART...
hitachi drives are rubbish...i had the 80GB 5400rpm non SATA model, and after 2-3 years i get bad sectors on it..just as bad as a desktop seagate model ive had...

ahh..thanks for the responses...i ended up buying the 5400rpm drive anyways..mainly because i'd like to keep those extra minutes on the laptop as every minute is crucial when using it whilst infront of the tv
plus the heat from my prev...
unless you manually force the brightness to go up everytime using the function button and thats not enough try going into the display properties advanced section and there should be an option there to force the contrast and brightness...
