yes with dvd shrink you can take out what ever you want I always just pull the main movie file and what ever track i want dolby digtal or dts and burn them to a dvd hey they even play in my ps2

you deffently need a surge protector when hooked to a power outlet to keep a surge from frying something. You should look into on with phone jack surge protection Belkin makes some really nice laptop surge protectors calle notebook...
