hey guys, i just got my 9100 (specs in sig), and it is the shiznat. i've flexed the laptop's muscles, and it just eats through far cry and takes on DOOM 3 without breaking a sweat. i'll be posting a review soon after benching and more...

why does it say you only have 8 MB video memory? is that an erroneous identification or do you really just have an 8 MB video card. because those are not adequate for DOOM 3.
yeah, i guess thats why there's that space limitation, to be another block to pirates. the true capacity of the dual layer DVD-9 is 9.4GB though. 4.7x2=9.4
that's awesome. 7000 on the 3dmark03 is better than even a desktop 9800XT. i'll be sure to point many many fans at my laptop when i try OC'ing.
dual layer DVD burners are able to burn dual layer DVDs, like the DVD-9s that many movies are released under, for around 9.4 GB of space instead of the normal 4.7 that most DVD-Rs have.
the dell drivers are just the ATI 4.8 catalysts, and i haven't heard anyone complaining of constant lockups in any game using those drivers.
hey machina, in your overclocking adventures, have you encountered locking up or artifacting in games?
i bet the HD's with 16MB caches are much more expensive than the ones with only 8MB. i'm waiting for the time when you can stick SATA 10000rpm HD's in a RAID array in your laptop.
apparently there's a 40 GB variant as well. but i'm not sure if only hitachi provides 7200 rpm 2.5 laptop HDs.
