If you're talking about one of the non-standard sized 500gb notebook drives, it gains the extra space by adding an extra platter, not by increasing aerial density (which almost certainly means there will be a noticable perf hit.)

It certainly would be nice. I'd also be curious about the M90's support for this. If someone with either the 512mb 7900 or the 512mb quadro in the m90 has a chance to try it and report results that'd be great.

Are you sure, I haven't seen any indication one way or another? Of course, by default assuming it doesn't is probably a safe bet, but I'd really like a more formal confirmation. I know the M170 doesn't (which I have now.) But I can't...
