I actually just completed this downgrade last night to my brothers LT3103u..... XP does seem to be much quicker.... I actually found a tool to install windows via USB Flash drive... its called "WinToFlash" and worked perfect . ...
have you thought of upgrading to Windows 7? I am curious about this and wonder if it would run better than Vista..... I am sure your comp on XP just flies huh?
ok cool, does it still need to be a broadcom? what have you upgraded to? I think mine is not working.... also appears the antenna connection is frayed so may have to replace that....
I have tried both speedswithxp and rmclock and am still getting the shutdowns after the above recomendations and settings....... i am going to try replacing the thermal compound with AS5 and see what that does...
has anyone swapped thier mini pci wireless for a newer one?
I am having an issue with my wireless, installed clean windows xp, installed sp3.... all the drivers appear to be working but the wireless is telling me to "turn on" the wireless..... i have an m6811 and see no wireless on off...
ok, got home, tore down the m6811 again.... was right there about to take out the internal memory when i notice the ribbon connector from the usb/media card reader was not completely on straight to the motherboard.... must have been me...
what i am going to try to do first is re-install old memory... see if that works first, if it does i will try eac piece of ram in the external bottom slot... see what that does. I just have a bad feeling I killed the thing and I dont...
i feel like i have killed the darn thing somehow but i also know it could be something really stupid and simple... could be..
