My Mom has an NP3880 with a 60GB IDE drive that is nearly full. IDE drives are near impossible to find now. My older Sager could be upgraded to SATA with a cheap adapter. I'm guessing my Mom's is too old for that. Anyone know?
1) Intel. I've been very happy with the X25-M's I've sold clients and they haven't had any complaints or RMAs yet. I haven't tried any of the newer SSDs.
2) Reliability, followed by performance, but reliability and ease of support more than anything (firmware updates, technical support, warranty, etc.).
Any chance I can send in my 5720 for an upgrade (new motherboard, CPU, video, etc.)? I'd love to have a bit more horsepower on the CPU end especially. Core2 is really what I'm really waiting for--64-bit support.
