Updating my update Turns out the ATI X1400s I was finding for cheap won't work (from 1505 instead of 1705)... the ones that will work all come from HK and are $200+. So I've decided to give up on the Inspiron. Which really sucks...

Update: looks like I'm going to buy an ATI X1400 on Ebay. For $50 its worth a shot. I'm seeing very few FX1600Ms, and prices are sky-high. Thanks for the help everyone.
