My gpu fan is making a rather bad noise and occasionally will ramp up and down in speed quickly, coming almost to a complete stop back up to normal speed. It used to idel at 50 degrees and now does at 62! Anyone else experiencing this...

That shouldn't have happened man, I would keep pushing. I'd say speak with customer service and if that doesn't cut it, push on to their supervisor. Just keep pushing, that seems like an isolated issue but definitely one they should...

Very true headshot, and technically ATI has a head start on unified shader architecture with the 360. ATI might actually turn the tides here soon.

Sounds like SLI is just easier, sounds like even their first attempt at it is better then the current crossfire setup to be honest. Too bad, ATI has some awesome cards but SLI is just better.
