My 8887 with 1 gig of RAM is slow, too. While it was in repair for three weeks, I used an Athlon 600 with 512 megs RAM running WIN 98se and it seemed to run faster that the Sager P4 2.4, WIN XP Pro.
Well, this Sager 888e is back from warranty repair and it is working fine. The logic board was the issue. It's good to have this computer working again. mjh
