First of all they really need a 12-cell with the 5720, that'd get some extra life out of it, but second, I still don't see why it's battery life is so bad.
The XPS m170 from Dell has similar specs, but much better battery life.
Well with ordinary headphones it's easy to make it impossible to hear outside noise by simply blasting the volume, but noise-cancelling gives the option of playing something really quietly, and still not having to hear outside noise.
There's no reason to get a 9890, by the time it's shipping the 9750 and the 5720 will both be out and at least in the case of the 9750, it's a far far better deal than the 9890.
