You may want to check out the new Fujitsu S7020 available in just a couple days. It will be utilizing Sonoma available with either 128Mb onboard graphics or 64Mb dedicated graphics.

Gateway M210 or BB retail model 3522gz 14"wgxa is actually pretty quiet. returned it, and got a Fujitsu s6231, so my hopes are high that it will be reasonably quiet as well.
Like Youhou said, Fujitsu S6231 13.3" xga screen you can get configured for about $1400-1,500 wighing in at about 4lbs. Asus M3NP 14" xga and (s)xga screens for about the same price (although sxga will cost you more)...
