Works for me so far. I applied the BIOS flash and the newest Omegas (2.5.97).

First, give PC Torque and Sager a call, see how much it costs to replace it. You could duct tape it, but you'll have to take off the back of the LCD to tape the inside. It's still dangerous to your LCD whether or not you do it.

It's a known but rarely occuring problem with the 56xx series. All are vulnerable, but it takes a lot for it to happen.

chuck11, the noise you hear is present with all AC'97 based sound chipsets, i.e. everything onboard these days, save nVidia boards. The only cure for that is an external sound card, be it USB or PCMCIA.

If there's only the one, live with it. That's within the industry standard for dead/stuck pixels.
