The Ubuntu package of firefox is a crappy, slow build. It's also 1.0.7, at least last time I checked. I stopped using Ubuntu builds of it with Hoary.

Just patch uxtheme.dll. Once you've done that, you can use any .msstyles visual style. I've got a pretty neat one called Tiger that makes Windows look like Mac OS X.
