On my 600m I use the Catalyst drivers via the dhmodtool. I've tried the Omega drivers a couple of times in the past. They weren't noticably different for performance for the stuff I play (COH), tended to have display corruption problems...
I didn't find the Omega drives to be any faster or slower on my 600m, but they were definitely buggier. With them installed my display would get corrupted and I'd have to reboot to get it fixed. It also seemed my machine was more prone...
Another thumbs up on the outlet here. You can get the exact same warranty and it's a lot cheaper. I don't see anything to fear. My 600m was flawless. One of the stickers was pealed up on my precision 470. I can live with that for 2/3rds...
Very nice. I was able to drop my Dell 600m 1.6 Dothan to .988. Under full load for a few hours, CPU temp never got above 55c and the fan is barely moving. Previously at 1.340 it would hit 67c at full load and the fan would be going full...

I play City of Heroes on it. Works fine at 1400x1050, but the RAM tends to overheat and the CPU throttles back. Keeping a fan blowing on the machine is the only way it will play for more than about 30 minutes even in a cool room. The...
Not sure about the D600, but we got a D800 here and the track pad was so bad the first thing everyone said when using the machine was "what's wrong with the trackpad, gimme a mouse?" We tried adjusting properties, bios and...
I'm coming up on 3 years for my 8100, touchpad, fans, and batteries have been replaced. My previous machine got a new home and is still in daily use. It's a 366 PII Cpia that I think is now 5 1/2 years old and still runs fine.
