with the 9860 you need to install the sata drivers whether your using sata or normal ata, nobody knows why but the 9860 comes with them on a cd and a usb floppy drive to install them
my 9860 does this too ,seems to be fairly common... o.O
the sound level in the 9860 really dissapoints me, i have seinhausser (however its spelt) headphones, and when i hook them up to my 9860 they are actually almost as loud as the speakers ( not on my head, sitting beside the notebook) its...
i had the same problem as you initially, then in game i set my resolution down to a lower setting and put it back up and it fixed it, and it hasnt come back even after i've shutdown and restarted the game multiple times
i;m running it fine 1680x1050 on my x800 with everything maxxed except aa and af and i get a pretty constant 75-80+ fps...
got mine jan 25, 1 stuck red pixel just outside of the middle area, i can live witht he dead pixel but the left and right sides of my screen are also much lighter then the center so i've been trying to email sager asking if this is...

Well most newer games seem to work fine on the 16:9 ratio for me. The ones that actually support the right resolutions i.e hl2 are awesome, but to telly ou the truth i barely notice the stretching even on newer games that dont, however...
so its not normal than? =( anyone know if this is covered by warranty or do i need to rush to get it back within the 30 day return period?
on my 9860 the left and right edges of the screen (for about an inch from the edge towards the middle on the left side and a half inch on the right) are much brighter than the rest of the screen, like the backlight is much stronger...
