I also still use my m6809. I sent it for the cracked hinges, upgraded the ram to 1.25GB changed the dvd drive(which died during a win xp install and so I couldnt use my laptop for 3 weeks) and the last thing I did is I installed...

I installed vista in my m6809 and its running fine. and even though it doesnt seem like much of an upgrade from xp im keeping it.

ok, thanks for the help one more question. do you know whether the drive for the m68xx series has to be IDE, ATAPI, or IDE/ATAPI?

Have anyone had this problem before? I wouldnt care for it so much if it just happened while im using it but it will still say its plugged after i turn it off too so its using power while off too.
