If I understood You have VGN AW 21 Z/B computer. There should be Intel® Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T9550 (2.66 GHz) . According to my knowledge it is 64 Bit processor. Installing 64 Bit Vista Ultimate You will eliminate all Your problems....
