Deepdarkspirit, do try out installing a previous Vista version NBF driver and see how that goes. That way we can narrow it down to these drivers or something else.

Anything could be the cause, yet I did not try L4D with this driver yet. I'll get it done as soon as possible and let you know about the status. If you can just uninstall the game and reboot see how that goes.
Has it been doing ever since you've installed it?
Question 1: OS, and specs if possible. Question 2: Did you install the drivers the proper way as described by Fenuxx? I had drivers do that when they were installed on top of another straight away in Vista.
Update: In Win7 64 on low clocks the driver is just going berserk, even as I'm typing it's freezing with artifacts and stuff, gaming performance is awesome though.
Even better this driver is a monster on Win7. I used to run WoW on low settings to eat out decent fps(60+) out of everywhere with any driver on vista. I've got all my settings on Ultra and 3 other settings are at Mid-High (Shadows,...
This driver does run cooler for me than the other ones. I usually hit 106 with other drivers, never topped 94 now.
In my case it didn't totally lock up, it was just around maybe 5 seconds. Aside from that I've managed to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on a laptop that never accepted my Windows XP or Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit ...looking good so...
