Thanks, I looked again at the settings and found a check box form that had PC speakers unchecked, I checked this then PC speakers showed up on the volumne control. I set all of them to max and it made a LITTLE difference. not much.
when I use the headphone jack, there is plenty of volumne.
Has anyone put in larger speakers in the case?
Where can I find these settings. DVD sound can hardly be heard over speakers, the control panel sound for speakers is on high. WHen I plug in headphones, it's loud enough to blow out your ear drum.
My 5670 is only three weeks new...do I regret not waiting NO.
? price of the new one - have you been quoted a $ value yet?
? availability - they say pretty soon but how do you know you'll end up with one of the first ones?
? initial problems - how long did it take the bugs to get worked out of the 5670 when it was released ? don't know when. Mine is fine.
? upgradable? well isn't that one reason we buy Sager? I plan on upgrading when the 7200 rpm drives are out...
what ever product you choose, if the notebook slams down onto a hard surface even if tilted, it may cause immediate damage to the internal components if not crack the case, break the lid hinge or other damage. If I had a $800.00 lappy maybe I wouldn't be too concened... but $3,000...I'm treating this thing better than a new born baby.
before I purchased my new (2 wk old.) 5670 I asked Adam if the 5670 was planned on being upgradable to the 5680 specs and he replied "yes", obviously until that happens he is somewhat speculating based upon Sager's previous upgrade experience. I ask if the ram was to be upgraded in the cost of the upgrade and he indicated that the present 5670 ram would work in the 5680 motherboard but it would be slightly slower. (implied answer - if you want the new ram you will have to...
