your going to have this problem with pretty much any company you buy from: alienware, dell, falcon northwood, ibuypower....newegg. Unless there are a lot of complaints, it just means you werent lucky.

what labmouse said is probably part of the story and the other part is the swap files like blinksilver said. I am guessing at least a gig is a swap file.

seems like your memory is defective. I would RMA the laptop because the mem doesnt run at stock speed.

this just proves what many of us already know. Each processor has its advantages and disadvantages. What got me wondering is the difference in gpu and memory speed of the x700 in the ferrari and the 8104. Are they at the same freq?
