The problem is not connection stability though, it's computer stability. Dropping connection, etc I would understand but causing the system to freeze is suspicious. I did try switching channels yesterday just in case. I'll try connecting...
My theory proved wrong... it had nothing to do with encryption... what else could it be I wonder...
I have a gigabyte GN-WIAG card. I'm connected at 54Mbps. I suspect it may be related to encryption. It might be a problem if it's not being done in hardware. I'll have to see if switching encryption type will help.
If I'm transferring data at a high speed over wireless, I get intermittent brief freezes. Has anybody experienced something similiar? Would replacing the card with something better help? I don't understand why there's a problem at all....
I think it's the RAM.

Got the adapter. It works. Now if I could shut this #$@$# laptop up. Ever since it came back it's been too loud.
Sounds like the majority of screwed customers are 8790 owners.
I think I got it... the DVI=>VGA adapter outputs the analog signal that is present on the DVI-I port... that's why it might work.
I see. I lowered my resolution and it works now... I guess I'll await Sager's reply regarding why a DVI=>VGA adapter might help.
