No, new drive, same setup, just letting it run to see if it stops, so far, not yet.... Don't have a new drive available yet.....Still can't figure out why the CPU would throttle down.....

Update, it's still running, but slowly...

Got is running in safe mode, and it is still running, very slowly at times, but running. It appears that the CPU is running, but very slow. Very, very slow. Can a CPU go into a slow mode?

OK, took out one, tried it and after a while, the laptop stopped. So, I took it out, installed the other RAM and it lasted longer, but did the same thing. Now what?

No, switched the two sticks to the opposite seat. Sorry for the confusion.

Ran the checkdisk and then pulled the memory, and reinstalled in the opposite seat. Same problem. Task manager will sorta operate, but anything else does not. It's almost like it's running at 1/2% or less, but still showing zero.

I'm back !! OK, took laptop apart and cleaned out numerous dust bunnies. Actually, not real bad, but IMO, bad enough to possibly cause a heat problem. Defragged the drive, and initially, the computer seemed to run better. It stayed up...

OK, just had it sitting while idling and the task manager % showed 7% when it stopped. Cursor would move, but not exit browser window, BUT, it did exit task manager. It would not reopen task manager or anything else. At this point, if...

Computer starts normally and runs normal initially. Then, the CPU just shuts down to 0% performance. Computer stays on, screen is normal, cursor moves, but does not do anything. At that point, it will not even shut off normally. Only...
