Could it be from all the stress its been under? Regardless I would hope the components would last a bit longer, even with the smell of burnt plastic in the air.

I would like to say that this is the most comprehensive forum post I have come upon. I am looking at buying the g73 vs the m17x with near exact model specifications. It also seems wherever I look to find more info on these two laptops...
