Im a complete newbie with windows and ive been thinkin of formatting my computer for awhile cuz i dont like to think of all the crap dell put on my brand new baby. I have the 9100 as my sig says.

Im not really having a big problem with my lappy just lookin for a performance increase. my specs are as follows.
Processor-3.2 HT pentium
RAM- 1gig
Harddrive-60gig 7,200 rpm
256 ATI 9800 with omeg drivers latest

Oh and i was wondering if leaving the omega drivers installed just for everyday use that wont mess my lappy up will it cuz i know it makes it work harder. and how do i cheack the temp of my comp to make sure i dont kill it.
I have the removable dirve. And it works fine it just does as you said the random dissapearing act there sending me a new drive but i dont think thats going to fix it .
