No it won't void your warranty. The fan plug is directly beside the videocard. Follow the wire from the heatsink and make sure it's not loose or anything. If you push on it and it snaps in, then it was loose.
any trip settings you modify will reset to the classic settings when you restart your computer.

Having two optical drives isn't necessary, but it is damned convenient if you have the extra cash to blow. You can always make .iso files or similar for DVDs and CDs and then just burn the image onto another disk using the same drive....
Awsome find. The original set trip actually turns off the fans when they're not needed!
