could indeed be that it was still drying because everything seems back to normal...Fangui is reporting that my temps are fairly standard for a prescott chip...all the keys on the keyboard seem to work. No crashes...Could have been the AC...
Downloaded ATI tray tools and that also refuses to give me temp info on the GPU...could it be cause I installed mobile catalyst 6.6.2?
Ahhh...ok...found the setting that had to be enabled to get GPU temps...everything works normal now.
Out of curiousity how are you monitoring GPU temps? I've got i8kfangui or whatever it's called and although it registers my CPU temp it has nothing listed for the GPU temp (just three periods where the temp should be)...Do I have to set...
I think your right...the acetone is good for cleaning the cpu off before applying thermal paste...but I think it'd be bad for the circuitboard...which I assume is made from plastic....
