hmm well the svideo thing was because the 2 cables I had were for gfx cards that can output composite through 2 lines. I got an adapter and it works.

gah! I can't believe it. The 2 cables I had wern't 'right' I tried someone elses little adapter and it works. I guess those cables were custom for gfx cards capable of outputing composite over just 2 lines.

no I didn't get one. I've got 2 of those cables. One with 4 pins and the other with the full 7 pins. Who knows if they're active or not, but they work on other gfx cards.
