I read somewhere in an article that they want to release versions 5, 6 and 7 by the end of this year, due to all the other browsers being so high in their versions.

A clean install is always best. I was never a fan of upgrades.

Laptops with upgradable CPU are pretty cool but then again sooner or later you will need a new one anyway because you will get bored of the design, etc. For this reason desktops are nice, you can easily customize them.
